America’s Economy: International Tourism. Why Are Gun Safety Laws So Important? By Rick London

gun safety

BREAKING Victory! New York will be the first state to pass gun laws in response to the mass shooting at Sandy Hook.
New laws include restricting access to the mentally ill, bans on assault weapons and extended magazines, background checks for private gun sales, a statewide database of gun licenses. and harsher punishments for gun crimes, particularly smugglers.

As you probably observed, it didn’t “just happen” overnight.  We were angered and felt powerless every time another mass murder happened. To add icing on the cake, before any American had a chance to express grief, the NRA and it’s groupies were making the story “all about them and their guns and how the second amendment” blah blah…” as if those of us who own guns or have owned them didn’t have that concern.

It simply showed us that people set their priorities differently.  For some, their guns are like their wives or

children (or in many cases even more valuable) but for most of us, the children, teachers and other innocents being murdered was the only story here.
I am a pure Constitutionalist, hence the 2nd Amendment to me is as important as the rest of them.   But here is a case that I know is going to be mentioned in the Supreme Court regarding “what is a gun and what is not”.  It was the same thing in 1935 when machine guns were banned except for military use.  Anything that was once “a gun” that becomes automated, is no longer

considered “a gun” or “arms” but “a military issued weaponry”, and not protected by the 2nd Amendment, hence a moot point  Citizens had to turn in their machine guns and all of them claimed the Constitution would fall apart and the end of the world would be very soon.

Well the world continued, and thrived, and many many less machine guns were bought because the few that got pushed further underground were so expensive, only the very wealthiest criminals could afford them, and no teens, nor young adults, those who are using the majority of automatics and/or extended clips now.

And even if all that didn’t exist, our 1st Amendment rights trump anyone’s 2nd Amendment rights any day (also proven in court in 1935. Every citizen had the right to walk down the street without the fear of being blown into little pieces to the point of no identification (a machine gun like an automatic or pistol with extended clip can do that same kind of damage).  So

America is finally coming into the civilized world.

Keep in mind, banning the automatic weapons is part of the solution, but not even close to all of it.  What is goingto be a factor that decides whether America continues to go down the slippery slope of “outlaw-land” or not, is the extensive background checks that finally will be put in place.

Of course the NRA has “it’s script” that is written for its members, created only to raise money for them.  Whenever the government mentions the idea of extensive background checks, the NRA sends out the same, or nearly the same fear-based letter every single time to it’s members that in a nutshell says, “And so what is next?  We know what is next.  They take our guns away.

And only you can prevent this and we’re counting on you.  Will you be sending us $10?  $25? $50? $100 or this amount_________?  And it works.  By now anyone who has been a member for at least a year, may not understand it, but the NRA’s fear-based fundraising letters, written by the very best psychologists-turned-marketers knows the score.

On the other hand, these days, one of the first things International tourists look for in their research is violence in the country in which they feel might be a fun and/or interesting visit.

So they check gun deaths in the U.S.  30,000 in 2011.  Nope, no way.  So they check Canada.  Gun deaths in 2011 – 37.   It doesn’t take an Einstein to figure out what country they would be visiting in 2011 with their family of 4-5.

And those families of 4-5 are in the millions each year.  And thanks to yours truly, the NRA, and its brainwashed members who think that any day now their 2nd Amendment rights will be breached, the topic is not even raised.  After all, what could be more important.    America can afford to lose millions of dollars each year in tourism dollars if it means something as important as the “heroic NRA” fighting for your rights.

The problem is, they aren’t fighting for your rights.  They are fighting to put money in their pockets after each gun story, Newtown tragedy, etc.  The background checks has been a much-needed law in this country for a long time. It exists in every other civilized country. It does not breach any law-abiding citizen’s right to bear arms.  If it is upsetting to you, it is time to look within, not at the government, concerned parents, murdered citizens and their families, etc. What are you hiding?  If you have nothing to hide in your background, extension background checks should please you.

It keeps guns out of the hands of people who are not mentally or emotionally capable of handling them.

But you know the NRA mantra.  When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.  Well that’s not exactly true.  Guns will never be outlawed.  But when sick violent people are outlawed from getting guns, where they will have to go to buy them, deep into the black market is so expensive, only a small minority of them will be able to afford them.

Is it foolproof?   Of course not.  But it is a very good start.  And it is a message to our citizens who have been staying indoors an awful lot, not going to crowded theaters, malls, downtown or other places where people might be found shooting a gun, will begin doing public commerce again.  And there are millions of them.

And more importantly it sends a message to the world that the citizens are welcoming them back. Though we love our guns, and we do, we love people even more. And we love the fact that we live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, if not the most beautiful, and friendly, and if it means doing our best to keep guns out of the hands of sick/dangerous people to welcome them back, so be it.  If it means saying goodbye to automatic weapons and extended magazines; and leaving them with the military, for whom they were designed in the first place, so be it.

In other words, the U.S.A. is not as insane as they may believe it is, and they do believe it is, and we are surely willing to work on the useless violence, even if it means loss of profits to the NRA and its affiliates, no, especially if it means loss of income to that gang of thugs.

The gun dealers, gun show operators etc. will have to learn to act like professionals and deal with the government to make certain guns go to the right persons, or simply go out of business.  It is a win-win for everyone.  They do not need to be in the gun business if they don’t understand that simple face which is about to become law.  And the NRA has no business teaching us about gun safety if all they are trying to do is make it more unsafe, to raise money again and again.

Tourism, our country’s major breadwinner which has virtually dried up due to the unregulated gun laws (and gun laws that are ridiculous and don’t work) are now looking at America again as a possible destination).  Do you know that most travelers from different countries looked at us as they do Syria, Iran, Gaza, etc?  Seriously.  They picked safe(er) countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Scandanavia etc.  And who could blame them.  Those days are changing. FINALLY.

Hey GOP: It’s The Message, Stupid (Not The Delivery)

As you know, many (REAL) Republicans voted for President Obama.  When asked what went wrong, most Tea Partiers are saying “It wasn’t the message, it was the way it was delivered”.  Let me give you a subtle hint…..WRONG!  What you were offering was not even close to Conservative. It would have been the biggest government in the history of the world.

Privatization of important government functions ala Herbert Hoover which led us straight into the great depression.  Sending immigrants born and raised here to their parents homeland?   Virtually legalizing rape so you can criminalize abortion?  Feeling the adrenaline run of old white men sending young men overseas to die for whatever reason?  Policing everyone’s bedroom to make sure they were behaving? (I imagine behaving means “anything but what our own Republican Patreaus does”). Making certain gays did not get equal rights to the rest of us.   You get an A+ on delivery.   We heard everything perfectly.   The message was what killed you. It was/is dismal.   Do you have any idea how big a government that is?  Even an inkling?  And how horrendous it would make our country in all the rest of the world’s eyes?  A government like that is like “Stalinism on Steroids”; so much larger and every bit as evil as Stalin’s Soviet Union its uncanny.   And you think it was the way the message was delivered.

Might want to get back to Karl and Grover on that one. They led you astray with that too; not to mention taking all your money with guarantees of a grand victory.  You’re not mad at me. If you have any sense at all you’re mad at them and the fringe right of your “party”.  THEY brought you down. Not Obama, not me, not anyone but them.   Look within when something is that very wrong.  It can be fixed, but anger is a luxury you can’t afford (unless it is directed properly and released) so you can move on from it.

The people have spoken.  We do not want America to go back to the dark ages.    We do not like abortion, but we also are educated enough to know that the pro-life movement is so archaic, it causes millions of more abortions than it prevents.    They have become the party of “More Abortions And Dangerous Ones”. The pro-choice movement has become the party of less abortions, much less,  in medical environments and prevention using contraceptives, education, and family planning.

We don’t want your message.  Rewrite it, edit it,  sugar coat it, make it even seem sane (if that is possible).  We don’t want it.  If its good for you. Live it.  Exchange those values in your religious institution. You are not converting us or anyone else via government. That is a theocracy, and that is why we have gone to war for years……to fight theocracies due to how evil they are.  In just religion, these ideas are benign and fine.  They are for you. They are not for  you to impose upon us, any more than I would impose my beliefs upon you.  Make sense?   And I am a strong believer in G-d and I have much faith.  But if you don’t that is fine with me.  In fact I demand it.  Be you, because that’s all you can be.  If you start being me, then you’ve lost you.

America wants Planned Parenthood as it saves lives.    We don’t want a theocracy.  Really.  If the die-hard Tea Partyers want a theocracy, find a place and form one and “Theoc away to your heart’s content”.  We’ve seen your little power game and have no interests.   America is a melting pot of all races, creeds, religions etc and before long,  all of us will have equal rights (in spite of you).

You can join us (far right) but you have got to learn to behave.   You don’t set the rules.  America does.  And lately, you’ve proven you do not want to play by America’s rules (the Constitution).  If they bother you that much, I bet anything we could talk an airline into offering free one way tickets to ANYWHERE you’d like to go.  Because if you try this again, (Block & Blame: What your Congresspersons did to Obama),  you will see your party so voted out, you will try to remember the name of it.  Really.  Don’t get mad at me. I’m just listening to the word on the street and passing the word.    Now lets go be Americans or lets bid each other farewell.

Stop Blaming Obama by Rick London

I remember when I was young and immature (like Donald Trump), and used to blame one man for every single slump in my business. That man was the President.

I felt, “Why is business down? I know why.  Dam President. We need to vote him out, and get one who understands.

It never occurred to me that I had shortcomings.  That at least 90% of my business stats had to do with my own business practices, not what one man’s actions were in Washington, D.C.

Under the Clinton administration, I launched the business I have now which is cartoons and quote licensed gifts. It grew rapidly.

It grew some more during the GW Bush administration; in fact at times faster than under the Clinton administration, and I didn’t even vote for GW Bush, but I give credit where credit is due.

Neither Bush nor Clinton had very much to do with it, though with a balanced budget (Clinton) I admit made it easier to start such a business with zero backing.

Under Obama, it probably grew its largest, but also had some of its slowest days; neither of which had anything to do with President Obama.

My Same Office (During GW Bush & Obama) Administrations. Still Operating

It all had to do with me. How was I promoting it?  Was I following up on sales?  Was I being creative and persistent with my products?  Was I utilizing social media properly.

Absolutely none of that had to do with Obama.

I sincerely get a huge chuckle when I see broke ex-millionaires like Donald Trump blame Obama for every business problem that happens to him. For instance, all those clothiers are having

(Above) My office: Under

GW Bush & Barack Obama.

Nothing has changed, and

business is good.

their merchandise made in China.

“Who can compete”?, he asked David Letterman.  Letterman turned his batch of ties over to find they were “Made In China”.  Busted.

Get real people.  Obama is doing fine on the economy.   Romney has no plan.  Besides what either of them do has VERY little; maybe .000034 of what happens to your business, compared with what you do to it.

Also keep in mind we live in a world with rapid changes. Check your merchandise or service regularly.

As an adult I had to switch careers at least 6 times and go back to school at age 47. Under Obama? No under GW Bush.   The training I’d had became obsolete.

It was not Bush’s fault and he gave me a chance to re-educate myself.

Start coming clean. We all have shortcomings and Presidents have little if anything to do with them.

Neither do our parents (anymore) if we are adults.  We’ve had plenty of time to correct their mistakes.

If you don’t care for President Obama for the reasons we know you don’t, fine. Admit it.  We know its not because he’s not doing a very good job in spite of 4 years of GOP obstruction (they admit

it), he’s not a socialist, a secret Kenyan Muslim, he’s a Christian who loves America and his family and America.

If you don’t like him,  most of us really know why (See: John Sununu on YouTube for further information).   I respect him for revealing his “dog whistles”. I abhor those who still use the useless

nonproductive ridiculous “hide my racism” talking points.

Now quit blaming Obama and get to work.  That’s what I’m doing.  And I’m making money…just like I did under the GW Bush administration, when America was falling into a depression.  But

here’s the rub. I work hard.  You can do.  Are you telling me I’m wrong? If I am, you may be in the wrong business.  It may be an unnecessary service. It happens a lot these days.  It happened to me as I said.  If you are in the right business, and you are working hard, I mean truly hard, you’re making money. No excuses. Obama has about as much to do with your income as the unemployed in Queens have to do with making Donald Trump’s ties.

The harder the work, the lesser you blame the President, any President, or anyone else for your shortcomings.

I’m Grieving For The 2974 Who Perished & The Millions Today Still Under Bin Laden’s Influence

We at LTCartoons.com will not be online much today. Of course we are grieving, not only for the 2,974 souls who perished on September 11, 2001, but for those who are living today, who don’t understand what happened to us.

The horrendous beast who murdered our citizens wanted nothing more than to divide our nation; either politically or by class.  He told us over and over in videos that the knocking down of our buildings would not do it, but it would be a start.  In many ways, he is still succeeding.

He knew we would wage wars and wars would drain our budget. It did.  I have seen a war budget. It makes health and other social bills look like pocket change.

We would then begin to point fingers at each other and not him.  Even GW Bush said, “I don’t think about him much anymore”.

Think right now and ask yourself, “Who is the biggest enemy to America?”  If you said The President or those voting for him, or Romney or those voting for him, then you are still living that madman’s (Bin Laden’s dream) and I grieve for you.

If you’ve gotten past that, and know we MUST have a strong two-party system that works together as outlined by our Founding Fathers, then congratulations.  You (and I) can move on (but never forget the evil plans of 9/11).

I encourage you to vote this November 7.  But I also encourage you to support our President, no matter who wins.  Because if you don’t, and if you try to undermine his work, you are still under Bin Laden’s Machiavellian spell; and of course I will continue to grieve for you too. The party for whom we are not voting is not our enemy. They are merely an aggravation.  Poke fun at them if  you like. Curse their being inept. But ALWAYS REMEMBER..They are not our enemy….. Al Queida is our enemy.

For 2.5 years on facebook I never mentioned politics once.  Slowly and insidiously people on the far right begin posting everything from right wing political rhetoric to downright threats on my page (and sometimes my wife Lee’s).   It occasionally happened from the left, but not chronically, methodically and in gangs. It was generally a once a month appeal (at most), not pushed, and very random.  There was a dramatic difference.  I still didn’t like it (as I’m in the middle), but it was not to the point of hateful and obstructing my work.   I simply did not want to discuss politics on social media.

The great irony is, in those 2.5 years, we’d decided we pretty much did not care much Obama much as nothing seemed to be getting done. We’re keenly aware now, as is the rest of the nation, of Mr. Ryan hiding the Simpson/Bowles act, and now we know why, and may even vote for President Obama…though we never have before. The threats and rhetoric on our page never stopped.  Though I’m  an Independent, and might vote one of our Independent choices instead, I know I won’t vote the party that bullied us nonstop for 2 years.  If they meant to recruit us, their skills were/are dismal. That’s not how its done.  But they are still not my enemy.  They are merely irritating and often fun to poke fun of.

We finally decided to fight back (even though we still weren’t decided who our candidate choice would be, but it was useless.  They basically told us, “You are with us, or you are an evil socialist out to destroy America”.  I knew immediately they were clearly living Bin Laden’s dream, and all I could do was pray for them (and still do).   I do not mind if they don’t vote as I do; I only wish for them to behave like adults, and take it to the voting booth, not my facebook page.  That is like my living room.  It’s a “no touch zone”.

If you don’t like my politics or decisions, simply leave.  That is how social media works.  The threats are over.  My wife and I are fighting back now, as you may have noticed, but all the while know you are not our enemy; you are simply irritating (if you are involved in this).  For those who have not been involved, my deepest apologies for inflicting my retorts; they were and are not meant for you.  I think people are starting to get it now….a strong 2-party system is our only hope.  It works beautifully in my state of Arkansas where it is 50-50; and it can work in yours too. But first one has to drop the hate and/or paranoia. I’ll repeat; someone voting differently than you is not your enemy. Just irritating at worst.

So if you don’t “get it”, I also pray for you, that one day you will really see what has happened to you (and me), and how to simply let it go, and love ALL Americans again.  It happened to me, it can happen to anybody.

5 Things The GOP Must Do Not To Become A Fringe Party By Rick London

The GOP has many positive elements to offer  if they’d only stick to the script for what their party truly stands. The problem is they’ve become insincere as a party, lying to themselves, deluding themselves, and pushing their politics so far right that they’re off the planet.  They’ve lost any idea of what it is like to be compassionate and concerned about the plight of all Americans.  Generally, where the Democrats have strengths, the GOP have weaknesses (and vice versa).  They may not always like each other….but they ALWAYS need each other (to keep America, America)

It will change of course. It has too, as eventually someone will see in the party they want to win and work in government again.   They shouldn’t be surprised when other parties are forced to “tug” even harder in the opposite direction to get things accomplished. It’s like dragging your ballsack through glass with this GOP Congress.  They generally don’t want to compromise on issues that easily “could” be, because they’re more concerned with being right, keeping their jobs (and lifelong entitlements) and living their pride rather than helping voters voices be heard.

Our founding fathers, though many religious, knew the dangers of a Theocracy. After all it was a theocracy (in England) that they escaped by the skin of their teeth to travel here to found this great nation.  And though many believed in God (as I do); they were VERY clear this was not a theocracy.  And a two-party system was not only important, it was mandatory for America to work; and those two parties must work together, or sink together.

Are you pro-life? Fine, awesome, wonderful. I completely understand that position.  I’m pro-life too. I happen to more often vote pro-choice now that I know about Misoprostol , the cheap Internet ulcer drug that 97% of the time cause abortions. The other 3% of the time, generally horrific birth defects.  The Internet entrepreneurs who sell it, are sitting in prey for a Personhood ticket to be elected. Of course they will become the richest people on the planet.  But that’s my choice. If you believe pro-life works better, God bless you..vote that way.

But I have to vote my conscience.    I’ve seen the stats and I see millions of less abortions.  You see otherwise, and I’m fine with that. We’d both like to see less abortions.  For many years the pro-life movement made valliant efforts to lessen abortions.   But when RVWade was settled. There was no Internet. There was no Internet entrepreneurs, and there was no Misoprostol.  Now, in a Personhood/Theocracy state, we would have so many more abortions than happen now it would not even be controllable.  It would be ridiculous in fact.  The movement needs to catch up to speed and understand that the more they push for Personhood, the more the Mosoprostol Entrepreneurs love them.  It’s only common sense the want more abortions, as they will sell more product.

And its very cheap, do it yourself at home, and can be bought over the counter in most countries, prescription in America.  Meanwhile I’ll vote pro-choice for less and safer abortions. Until the pro-life movement tells me what it plans to do about Misprostol, how do they really expect me to take them seriously anymore? And finally, I believe abortion to be a personal health decision between a woman and her doctor.  Does that mean I like abortion?  No. But I think education, contraception and family planning is the key to less (in fact the stats show that works); legislation of abortion is a disaster.  But let’s not argue semantics. You know it too.  But you have a lot invested in “the movement” and I understand that.    But we both would like to see the same thing. Less abortions. So we’re not as far apart as you think. You think legislation does the trick, I think education.  So what.  We both want the same thing.

You’re concerned about government debt and entitlement programs being abused – That is a very a righteous platform! You want to cut taxes for people making a lot of money because you sincerely believe companies will hire and help American’s get back to work? Awesome — fine, that’s ok by me.

Just understand I disagree with you.  but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t shake your hand and say “Hey, what can we work together on?”. There was a time in America when parties were open to compromise.   But when you slap my hand away, spit in my face, call me names and tell me I’m going to burn in hell and destroy America because I believe in Universal Health care,  or that a rapist should be in prison, not at the movies every other weekend with his “love” child, and gays deserve less rights than straights,  and are not entitled to the same rights in domestic partnerships or they are an abomination, then you know what you can do to yourself; and if your memory fails you, go to YouTube and see Clint Eastwood’s rambling dialogue with an empty chair.

The very decent GOP has been hijacked by the loon fringe.  Loon fringe is not “my coined expression” btw. I hear it daily by the ex-GOP’s on Twitter who are now Independents or Democrats.  The party left them too.  Until the GOP sees that, address it, and let them know how very unwelcome they are (unless they start acting as the Constitution  advises, they will lose until the end of time. I don’t say that with glee. I say that because I believe in a strong 2-party system.

Right now America has a very strong one party system, and one very horrendous joke that was once a strong proud party that knew how to compromise and not undermine a U.S. President’s work (at we, the people’s expense), and think we are all too stupid to know how Washington works and what they did. Most of us have been to college.  We are livid at the GOP; even those of us who have voted it often, ESPECIALLY those of us who have voted it often.

You may wonder why I’ve given the GOP a hard time lately.  You haven’t been paying attention. When the Democrats make faux pas, I’m onto their shenanigans too.  But the Democrats (I hate to tell you) have been playing by the rules. They know their script. They’ve reigned in the far left (who was pulling them off the planet every bit as much as your far right fringe is now).  I have been telling both parties for years, the real sanity is in the middle.  Jon Huntsman tried his best (GOP) and you banished him to his home.  President Obama showed in his actions that he was playing by his script.  Former President Clinton eloquently drove home that fact last night.  Now its time for a brave GOP to come to the plate and say, “I’m not pleased IN THE LEAST with the way this whole party has been hijacked, and even now controlled by the loon fringe.  As a former GOP, I know the majority are not happy at all with that.  In fact they are horrified.   Let’s please. clean it up.  That does not mean “Lose Your Religion”, it merely means know the difference between religion and politics, and if that is too confusing for you, please refer to the U.S. Constitution.

Thanks sincerely,

Voting Pro-Life? Are You Sure? Meet Misoprostol And The New Cheap Abortion Pill Entrepreneurs You’re Financing.

The more headway Romney and Ryan make, the closer we see Misoprostol becoming a household word.  Those of us who spend time on Twitter have seen it coming down the stream ever since Romney admitted to Mike Huckabee of his commitment to The Personhood Bill.

The Mexican pharmacist awakens about 6am and drives to his wood-frame pharmacy about ½ mile down a narrow street full of stray dogs and cats.  He sees the Pfizer truck awaiting him so he rushes to the door to let the driver in.

Jose Hernandez was educated at the pharmacy school in Mexico City and moved back to his home of San Antonio (not Tx) but a small town outside of Tijuana that boasts a beautiful Pacific Island beachfront.  Many Americans own property on the beach due to it’s quiet scenic ocean view and low prices (for that kind of property).  It’s only a 2.5 hour drive from San Diego.

Though Jose knows the bulk of Cytotec (also known by its generic name Misoprostol) will be his biggest seller, he also knows the majority of it will not be walk-in business, but Americans in states with few abortion clinics who cannot afford to travel to one.  So they order Misoprostol made for ulcers which also often cause an abortion to occur.  But not always.  And when it does not, which is 3% of the time, it puts the baby at a much higher risk of birth defects.

But of course women in need of an abortion don’t care.  Their state government has made it impossible for them to have a safe abortion, so they will obviously use what is now being called “The Chemical Coathanger”.

In Uraguay where abortions are illegal, unethical doctors have been meeting with women for years in clandestine places to sell them Misoprostol at ridiculously inflated prices.  Several women have died this year from the drug.  Though it is safer than the old back-alley coathanger, it is only barely safer.

Misoprostol can also easily be purchased in America from any Canadian pharmacy at cheap prices.  A big problem is that, many times these drugs, if ordered from out of the U.S. will be held up for weeks and even months at customs.  That means a woman who was seeking an early-term abortion will now have to have a mid-to-late term one.

It is also cheap and easily ordered from most Asian countries and India and American women are already ordering and stocking up in schocking numbers (according to their Twitter tweet streams)

Though misoprostol can be bought over the counter in Mexico, a prescription is required in the U.S. and it most likely will not be outlawed even if abortion is. Why?  Because it is an ulcer drug already approved by the FDA for ulcers.

The bulk of Jose’s sales are made in the U.S.  It appears women are stockpiling just in case the Romney/Ryan ticket gets elected.   His sales have increased about 5000% in the past year.  He outsources the dropshipping of the med so as not to take away from his other pharmaceutical duties.

The “talk of twitter” says these “Internet Abortion Drug Entrepreneurs” have been “sitting in wait” for years, for a ticket like Romney/Ryan who might indeed select the right Supreme Court Judges to attempt to overturn RVWade.  They had banked on Reagan but it didn’t happen.  Now these weasels have true hope.  They will, no doubt, be among the wealthiest E-Entrepreneurs in the world, as it is common sense that this medicine will be the most purchased over the net from other countries.

And of course that means the U.S. Government will do the predictable….Wage a “War On Internet Abortion Drug Entrepreneurs” inciting others to “get in on a piece of the pie” and hidden scripts will enter the country left and right.  Many women, of course will not have to go to the trouble to order the drug, though an article in a Texas Newspaper says many women in Texas already are crossing the border to get the med to stockpile it.

Many American doctors will simply prescribe it for ulcers, and an abortion will occur; or if not, most likely a baby with dramatic birth defects, and the drug (taken in amounts for abortion) can greatly compromise the woman’s immune system according to many studies and examples.

Jose’s business is not “an isolated case”.  Abortion Entrepreneurs have been “laying in wait” since the days of Reagan….hoping he would nominate enough of the far right to the Supreme Court to overturn RVWade and let the floodgates loose, and, of course bring them more wealth than anyone could ever imagine.

Bill Gates and Warren Buffet would be “names of the past” compared to the top 10 of these clowns selling ulcer meds over the net…and frankly even to the friendly small town doctor who suddenly finds he/she has an incredible amount of women suffering from “ulcers”.

During the days of RVWade, there were no Internet abortions, only back alley brutal killers.  Those days will be in the past for the most part.   Most women will be able to afford the risky ulcer drug, and will take the risk of birth defects in case the med does not work.  Back then, it was cut and dry; one was either for abortion or against it.

Today, there are many shades of gray.  There is partial birth abortion which is outlawed except in very rare cases in which it will kill the mother, or when the baby is found already dead.  In fact in either case most doctors tend to teminate the pregnancy in order to save the mother’s life and it does not fall under the auspices of “laws against partial birth abortion”.

There is still debate over “when life begins”, but that will no longer even be a debate if safe abortion is outlawed, as the majority of  women will not be going for medical help but ordering the drug directly from foreign pharmacies, or getting an “online consultation” from an unscrupulous m.d. in America who will ask questions for five minutes and Fed Ex the drug to her.

If/When the feds close the MD down, 10,000 others will crop up.  The war on abortion entrepreneurs will not be one of course.  A federal prosecuting attorney with whom I grew up once told me, “Whenever there is a war on anything (other than war/battles) it is not only not won, but makes it worse”. I am in complete agreement with him on that topic, though he and I have debated on many other topics on which we don’t agree.   He is a smart man, nevertheless.

So how do we create an environment for less abortions?  Everything that the GOP is against.  More education, contraceptive and family planning.  I’m still trying to figure out how taking away contraception will result in less abortion.  It’s sort of like less soap will cause more cleanliness.

With the abortion entrepreneur laying in wait (in every country in the world, I’m told), it’s really time to re-think voting on a “pro-life” ticket, because unlike the days of RVWade, it is suddenly the “ticket of death and destruction”.

They didn’t mean to be. Their hearts were in the right place, but anyone who understands the nature of the Internet (and I went back to school to study IT) knows every major niche will be filled by very eager entrepreneurs; and abortion is no exception.   Who would have ever thought pro-choice tickets would be the ticket of life?  Life is full of irony. (PS: Please don’t kill  the messenger). Simply google “Abortion Ulcer Drug” and take a look at all the activity already happening, and November is not yet  even here.

I believe the extremely important thing to remember here is that one can be pro-life and not vote a pro-life ticket (simply because of the millions of more, and dangerous abortions it is going to cause).  In fact, if one thinks this through, the only TRUE pro-life persons will vote the pro-choice ticket.  How can they not?  They are not in this for power or “to have their dogmatic way”.  They are truly in it for less and safer abortions.  Most will argue with me now.  But as more of this information emerges, and Misoprostol becomes a household word in America; which of course it will under a Romney/Ryan administration, pro-life voters and pro-choice voters will say, “Rick really wasn’t misleading us”.  This is not only really happening, it is now so far out of control it can never be fixed.”   Food for thought.

Deleting Haters From One’s Group Is Not Always Easy, But Always Necessary

I live a simple life.  It is what I would call a good life.  I’m not extremely wealthy; nor do I live in a mansion, but I live in a beautiful part of the world, with the woman whom I love, Lee Hiller-London.

I have a few digital design, computer, and marketing skills, which makes it easy for me to choose a place I want to live.  Thanks to the Internet combined with those basic skills, I can fairly easily make a living from my living room as can Lee after developing her photos from her hike.  She knows the importance of me hiking several times a week with her as I bring along with my one of my professors told me to call “my genius pad”. Nature has a way of bringing out the genius in the most mundane of all of us.  I remember telling him, “But I’m not a genius. What is the use of carrying the pad? “He responded, “You will be when you jot down the fleeting idea on paper that 99.9% continue to let fleet until they forget it by the time they got home.

This theory has proven itself over and over again; no I don’t consider myself a genius by any means but I clearly see why the brightest of the bright keep a pen and pad always within reach wherever they are.

This week was a very bad week.  No, it wasn’t because I forgot my “genius pad” or couldn’t think up anything funny that would make it as a cartoon, it was people. Personality conflict.

I will start with facebook “friend #1. Let’s just call him FBF#1 for now. I rarely talk to him, but I always got along with him growing up. He seemed friendly and occasionally visited one of my more popular facebook groups about growing up southern.   I occasionally like to kid around; just to see if people are awake and paying attention. I found an old movie marquee with Dorothy, Toto and one of the flying monkey-monsters and said, “You guys want believe this but I just discovered a new film on Netflix called “Wizard Of Oz”. It has cool special effects, flying monkeys, a wizard who speaks from behind a curtain, a tornado scene and all kinds of cool stuff. I think it’s going to be a hit.  Most of my friends had this or that funny sarcastic thing to say except for one.

FBF#1 was someone I’d known in real life, but not that well…fortunately.  He added, “Oh, and look at the monkey. It looks just like Obama and I didn’t know he was acting too”.

I didn’t take the post down immediately nor did I take his racial slur down. He is allegedly a respected man around my hometown, and I wanted people to see who he really was.

A few days later he sent me a private message telling me I was so wrong that…ready…..”Some of his best friends are black” (I kid you not); do people still fall for that old faux line?  Worse yet, do people still use it? I guess so. But it gets better.  When the event happened, his icon photo was that of a bright red Indianapolis 500 racecar.  When he wrote me the private message to basically “go straight to hell” (not his exact working but I got the picture”, he had taken off the Indie 500 racecar and found a picture of himself in an office with a black man’s arm around him.  Big buds.  So, within 48 hours, he was able to find that photo to prove his point (thinking I didn’t remember what he had up) and change it to prove me a liar.

Sadly, he is not savvy in the least about facebook and bullying. He is more so now.  I not only took a screenshot of what he actually said, and what I actually said, and kept one copy and sent one copy to facebook security.  They are now monitoring his every move. Last I saw he started a group exactly like mine (so he is as original as he is IQ-challenged). I hope he gets 5 times the membership I have. Then he’ll get to have to play arbitrator and see what it’s like when a conflict occurs. And there will be many in his group. He offers no rules or terms of service.  If he goes with what his philosophy is, racism is okay, as long as it is comparing a U.S. President he doesn’t like to a monkey.  He’s in for the time of his life.

He told me in his private facebook mail to me that I called him a racist, bigot etc.  Problem is I have the actual screenshot which is considered CYBER-DNA proof; and he is lying; so he’s probably lying to others as well.  Good thing he is nobody of any significance. I get the feeling the people who run in his circle would be better off thinking I’m a liar and no good SOB.  All is better that way. They stay out of my way and I stay out of theirs.  But if it ever came to a head. Facebook security thanked me the screenshot; and if he ever causes trouble with it, he’s up against them, not me.  Good luck big bad guy.

More irony is, I couldn’t care less if he doesn’t like Obama.  He can even say so I a tactful way but not attack the candidate as that is not allowed in our group. The same is true of Romney. No personal attacks against people period, politicians or not.  It has worked very well for me. With over 900 members, we’ve only had to ask 7 to leave in a year’s time.

So I finally caught my breath and that was over.  We live in volatile sensitive times and I realize some people are ill (compulsion is an illness) and they cannot help themselves when posting such filth. I compare it to pornography and in many ways it is. The reaction of the creator of it is meant to do the same thing.  And I don’t allow pornographers in my tweet stream.

As if that incident was not enough to raise my blood pressure (remember we are trying to keep it down); after 2 major heart attacks and my only arteries working on stents, that kind of behavior especially cannot be tolerated.  In fact, my cardiologist says block it immediately.  Do not get caught up in others neurosis, sociopathic, or psychotic behavior.

Then two days later I was blind-sided by another one. This time it was a librarian friend from many years ago; about 20 years to be precise.  I welcomed her to facebook when I saw she’d just shown up and invited her to my Southern Group. I then left and went about my business of designing or promoting as I often do.

I usually check in every hour or so but something told me to do so earlier.  People were posting their favorite childhood shows as we often do, but there was one problem.  This university educated librarian who has worked with children for years, listed her very favorite as “Amos And Andy”.  Though I understood the post, I did not understand the “no follow up. Let me explain.

Most of u were about three years old when that show was produced, and most of us found it funny. Of course we did not have a clue what “black face” meant; and that the show was specifically created to use white men and woman to depict African-American men and women to make them seem to have a lower IQ.

So she could have easily said, (and felt like I did); when I was 3 I loved Amos And Andy, but of course I was too young and immature to understand that the producers were utilizing the media to further their agenda of insidious (close to Machiavellian racism), and if I had known better at the time, chances are very slim I would have watched it.  I can surely understand why it was taken off the air and removed from syndication and most if not all the law suits against it were lost (by the producers of the show).

The librarian didn’t understand I was trying to help her I did not say a word in public. I took it private; to her facebook message box.  So she would know I had no intention of embarrassing her but I had to let her know the rules (TOS) which she’d not read.  Of course she really wouldn’t have had to read the rules to know if that was right or wrong.  She’d been to college and worked with kids for several decades.

Her answer was, “Then Rick, you might as well fight to keep people from talking about the Bill Cosby Show, Fat Albert, Sanford & Son.  She really didn’t get it.  She thought I was giving her a hard time and that my beef was with childhood favorites that had black characters.

My problem was with white racists who produced the shows in a manner that made them funny, hard to hate (the characters were likeable); I l enjoyed the whole cast of Amos And Andy, but I was 3 years old for goodness sake. I am 57 now and the librarian is nearly that age.  Does she think the same now as she did when she was 3? I so, of course therapy is in order and soon.

I am not the man I was even ten years ago, and hope I never go back to who he was; he had a few good qualities but he did not live up to the ideals I had set for myself.  And I sure as hell hope that ten years from now, I am still the man I am today.  If I haven’t changed, someone just take me and stick needles in my eyes.  I like a lot of my qualities.  But I am not even close to the type of man I hope I am becoming.

But I must have learned and made some positive changes since I was three.  For instance, I know without a doubt, that Amos And Andy (and any black face show) was created for a dual purpose. One was to entertain (and it often did that quite well) and the other was to subtly keep us in a vicious cycle of hating a race of good people, without even knowing why; to think we were better than them, again,   for not even knowing why.

My hopes were to give the librarian another chance.  I knew her to be a better person than what she was presenting herself to be.  I’ve worked in major network TV. I know exactly how those slants and spins are done with “agenda shows” and though black face is no longer used, socio-political issues that were barely mentioned a decade ago; are so today. And sometimes that is a good thing. If it gets a message across such as explaining the U.S. Constitution in easy terms, I’m all for it.  Some have a very hard time with it and get it mixed up with their early Sunday School teachings.

Sometimes the two parallel, and sometimes they are diametrically opposed. Our personal religions and faiths are for us, not for the world.  And the USA is loaded with persons of all kinds of faiths (and many with no faiths at all).  Everyone in this great country deserves equal rights, no matter what they believe, or not (believe).  That is the main item on the “menu” of the U.S. Constitution that makes it so much different than the Constitutions of so many other countries. There are websites now in which you can read the Constitutions of the world; in fact; type in “Constitutions of the world” into Google and it may surprise you to see how very much all our Constitutions are; except for a few little subtleties which make America great.  That one about equal rights for all is one of “the biggies” and unless it flies; we might as well be living in Syria or the former Iraq or Libya.  I wish I were kidding, but any scholarly sociologist or other expert can easily back me up on it.

Romney Almost Cut My Hair (Song Parody by Rick London cs2012) Sung To CSN “Almost Cut My Hair”

Romney almost cut my hair,
It only happened ‘cause I was gay,
Didn’t seem like I belonged,
At Cranbrook School…..it was clearly foul play,
If he hadn’t I would have wondered why,
I was a bit effeminate & he a Bogart-type guy,
But Mitt ran on testosterone so his bullying must be done.

I should have fried his hateful bigoted ass,
This man is so beyond bizarre,
I think he has chronic paranoia,
With posthumous baptisms from afar,
His lies are are such a thin veneer,
Wouldn’t buy what he had even if egay was the auctioneer,
He must owe taxes to someone…..

He wants to cut the fat and run the country like an entrepreneur,
He went to the south for cheesy grits & instead got sunny weather;
Romney will never live down the gaffe,
But will separate “We The People from the Thief Of Staff?

America The Divided by Rick London

Those who know me well, know I don’t judge a person by his/her politics, religion, race or any other petty nonsense.  I try my best not to judge anyone but the times I miss the mark, I just judge on character. And that’s okay. It’s not perfect but it’s human.   I learn to not only tolerate but celebrate differences of opinion.

If everyone believed, voted or acted like me, we’d live in a very boring world (and my wife thinks “probably a bit immature one too”) I’m sure.  Most my posts are intended to be humorous. Occasionally I will create something I see as “a truth”; and test it here. Sometimes it ruffles feathers and that’s a good thing. I never personally attack anyone who visits my page.  I invite social discourse, disagreements are fine and if they play by polite rules of conduct, I don’t care what their philosophy is.  They are welcome to stay and debate until they are out of breath if they are enjoying it.

I do not post it to be YOUR truth, I post it to see if you recognize anything in it that rings true to you also. If you don’t, it does not anger me in the least. If you do, I smile a bit.  Today I posted what I saw on several Osama Bin Laden videos and “his vision for America” when he was alive.  It appears 9/11 but was step one in a series of steps to “divide America” so that it would “implode from within”.  It would (hopefully) cause huge financial burden. It did; bigger than he ever imagined as we almost immediately went to war; where he wasn’t…in Iraq.

But his evil instincts were correct. GW Bush bought right into them as did so many of us (me included; so I was not preaching from a high horse). But I’ve seen, researched and know enough now to know what he wanted. To create a far left and far right; so far apart (especially fiscally), that America would be the Un-United States Of America.  I tried far left and far right and saw the never-ending battle of pushing the other side further into their corner, and they pushing me further into mine.

Then it occurred to me “the middle is where the fence is”; and there is no mending fences unless one is brave enough to move to the middle (they can stay Republican or Democrat or Liberal or Conservative) but drop the knee-jerk extremism that Bin Laden so much prayed for (and even joked about in his cave interview with Peter Bergen); and many of his solo videos (and audios).  I will now always be a centrist who loves America (all of America). I will not judge on accidents of birth, status, or any other ridiculous notion.  America is a very special country. Don’t believe it? Just read the Constitution. Do you think I could do what I do in any other country?  Not even close.

Our brilliant Constitution guarantees that I can, and (ask my wife Lee) some of the most powerful lawyers in the country have tried to make me stop (on more than one occasion): the same lawyers who have tried to make SNL stop, Mad Magazine, and other barometers that remind us if we are still living in a free nation (or not).  When they are gone,  so are we (at least a free America).  Most of us don’t think of satire or parody that way.  But The Fair Use Act speaks of its importance.

I don’t care for whom you vote. That’s your business. I would never go to your page and tell you how very wrong you are if you named a candidate for whom I did not care.  I would hope you would be mature enough to share the same respect.  However, I don’t necessarily want you to vote for my candidate.   He might not be for you.  Yours might not be for me. Never try to bully me into voting for yours; you can be assured I will give the same respect.  All I ask of you is to consider what Osama Bin Laden’s biggst dream for us was. A divided America.  And so far, he’s getting his way.  Let’s get less extreme in our views, whether left or right; otherwise,  Mitt Romney is right; his death is really no big deal to be celebrated…..his dream lives on.  Finally, Thank God for our U.S. Military; and we are particularly thinking of the US Navy Team 6 who took out the most evil man on the planet, the man who killed so many of our innocents and did a very successful job of dividing our nation. Now its our job to fix our nation.  We can never ever let him have his way, even in death…especially in death.  There is a tendency to kill the messenger.

I encourage you to watch his videos on YouTube and you will see what I mean.  It’s not me you’re angry at. You are as angry at him as I am; as he created the environment to make a far left and far right exist, fight each other to the point where they each was/is the target enemy whether it is black, white, gay, straight, Muslim, Jew, Christian, Bhuddist, Wiccan, Republican, Democrat, Liberal, Conservative and any other label people use to justify their differences.

The bottom line is that we’ve been taught over the years by well-meaninged teachers, parents, ministers, tv talking heads etc. that those who believed, voted, acted etc. different than us “were the enemy”. Nothing could be further than the truth.  But changing that is easier said than done.  We’ve been indoctrinated to believe that; and, it is not the case.

It may (as psychologists call it for many of us) take behavior modification.  That could mean therapy. It might mean simply changing your mind. It may take research.  It will take what it takes, but let’s do what it takes, so that Bin Laden does not get his way.

I have gotten to the point where I know that the person who votes differently than me is not my enemy.  The person who has a different faith or belief or philosophy than me is not my enemy. I know that a person who competes with me doing the same kind of business is not my enemy.  The irritable irrational weird uncle or relative is not my enemy.  Al Queida is my enemy because I am an American, like you, and they want to kill me, and you.  Those other people simply may be irritated at me, or you and that’s fine.  There’s a big difference.  Work on yourself as I am working on myself. I continue to head toward the center because that is where the fence that needs mending is.  And together, left, right, liberal, conservative, gay, straight, black, white, etc etc etc. working TOGETHER in a democracy that our Constitution provides is unbeatable.  In fact, even in “this imperfect union” if we begin to mend the fences that Al Queida almost successfully severed, that is perfect enough for me. It will be a process and there will be bumps.  I am okay with that.

Nobody has to change what they are, in fact please don’t change what/who you are. That is sacred and to be cherished.  You are one of God’s children. But in some ways for America to work again, we may all have to change how we think and act; and not as dramatically as one thinks. Simply recognizing extremism from the far left and far right as it comes our way, and not fight back, simply let them know that sanity exists in the middle. In fact, those in the middle who accept everyone (and they have every right to stay left or right if they do not want to be part of the solution) and we can accept that. Not everyone is going to be a part of the solution. Life is not perfect nor do we live in a perfect world. But I truly believe there are enough good people out there who are sick of what we have seen over the past decade or so, the extremes (who are out for themselves, not the betterment or future of America) and its okay if they don’t to participate in the rebuilding of America.  What is important is that we do.

Let’s no longer justify our differences by labeling each other and/or demonizing another human being who thinks or believes different than you or me as Bin Laden so desperately wanted and came so close with his evil but clever manipulative power to make happen.  Lets celebrate our same-nesses on this one year anniversary of our brave Navy Seals turning him into a rancid piece of sushi.  Goodbye to bad garbage. It’s time for America to heal.  Be a part of the solution, and I’ll do my best to do the same.  Thanks all….and I mean ALL. You are our neighbors and friends. And that’s enough for us.
